Waipoo Falls

Waipoo falls is an 800-foot waterfall located in the Waimea Canyon on northern Kaua'i, aptly nicknamed "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific". This waterfall is particularly active in the wet season when the increased rainwater feeds into the Koke'e stream down into the falls. The trail that leads to the falls ends at the top, so it is difficult to get a view of the falls from its base.

You can still catch a glimpse of the falls at the Pu'u Ka Pele lookout near the 13th-mile marker of Highway 550. If you can afford a helicopter ride over the canyon, it will be easy to spot from the air.
