Our two-hour surf lessons include an initial land lesson before diving into the water to catch some waves. All necessary equipment, including lycra rashguard shirts and reef booties for protection, is provided for beginners, while more experienced surfers may choose from our selection of various board styles and types to rent from us.
Lessons take place in a sheltered bay near shore where waves break gently over a gently sloping reef, creating an ideal and beginner-friendly surfing environment. Minimal paddling is required and water depth ranges between knee-deep to chest-deep; safety requires participants to know how to swim; non-surfers should avoid entering the water for safety purposes.
Join Kalama Park in Kihei for an incredible beginner surfing experience at Kalama Park. Lessons are offered Monday to Saturday throughout the year between 8 am and 10 am with start times between 8 am and 10 am; children aged 8 years or up are also welcome for lessons!
