Many divers think of shore diving as having less to offer than a boat dive. This just isn't true at Koloa landing – Kauai's most popular shore dive spot. It is a remarkably rich and diverse reef environment. It is protected from wind and swell in a way that makes it a great place to dive even when other sites are blown out. On top of that, it is the easiest shore dive entry you can find, other than a piggy back ride! Besides a smooth entry, this shore dive also provides a great opportunity to spot some of the rarest reef fish in the Hawaiian Islands. Bandit angels, dragon morays and frogfish are just a few species your instructor may be able to point out during this shore dive. Hawaiian green sea turtles are common and eels are plentiful. Put all of this together and it's no surprise that Koloa Landing is considered one of the best shore dives in Hawaii.
