Mountain Riders offers a thrilling Maui Pre Dawn Bike Tour experience to visitors to Maui. Participants get to ride downhill 26 miles, starting from Haleakala's 6,500' level all the way downhill into Paia Bay along stunning Haleakala crater's edge - taking in stunning views and scenery of this dormant volcano and its surroundings along the way!
Mountain Riders office starts early each morning at 5:00 am to welcome guests for their tour, then transporting them up Haleakala where they are given bicycles and helmets as well as being guided through its history, geology, rare plants and animals unique to Maui by their tour guides.
The bike ride will lead guests along switchbacks through Haleakala Ranch and into Kula, Makawao and Paia before finally arriving at Paia Bay Beach Park along the Pacific coastline. Along the way they can stop and enjoy snacks or refreshments and even make no-host meal stops en route.
Note that this tour requires a minimum biking age of 12, due to its high elevation, pregnant women are not permitted to join either as bikers or van riders. Maximum weight permitted per participant is approximately 280lbs while minimum height requirement for bikers is 4'10".
