Hidden Craters Hike

Hidden Craters Hike offers exclusive access to Hualalai, Kona's own active volcano. This five-hour tour leads you through native forest and onto private land where you'll get to stand on the edge of precipitous volcanic craters that plunge deep into the earth below.

Your three to four mile trek covers uneven terrain with some steep inclines and declines as you gain approximately 800' to 1,000' elevation gain along uneven terrain, not including earthen steps descending and ascending 30-40 feet via rope assistance while exploring an intact lava tube unaltered by humans along the way where 200 year-old lava flows, spatter cones, fissures and collapsed pits will all come into view along with more surprises such as 200 year-old flows, spatter cones fissures and collapsed pits await discovery along the way!

Tour participants will receive walking sticks and rain jackets; guests should bring sturdy closed-toed shoes or hiking shoes, a sturdy hat, sunscreen, light sweatshirt or jacket and bring a reusable water bottle. This adventure is considered easy to moderate; guests should be comfortable hiking on uneven or rocky terrain up to 1,000' elevation gain and descent.

With 24 hours' notice for cancellations within the cancellation period or "no shows", customers will receive a full refund; within or within cancellation periods/no shows will be charged FULL AMOUNT of tour.
