Choose this afternoon horseback ride at the Mendes Ranch and feel like a "paniolo" (cowboy) on Maui! Guests will mount up on western saddles at the corral and ride with a guide down the edge of Waihee Valley to the coastline and back up. Considered one of the backsides of the island this area does not boast white sandy beaches and terraced landscapes instead guests escape into undeveloped raw beauty. Ride through open lands and down the edge of the valley to marvel at the expansive, magnificent waters of the Pacific Ocean. Before leaving this vantage and heading back up to the corral your guide can take photographs of you with the majestic seascape in the background. Since 1886 the Medes family has cared for and maintained this land. The original homestead has grown into an amazing ranch which remains family owned and operated. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverage to enjoy the picnic spot after the morning tours or they can come early and eat before the afternoon tour. With scenic views and a pace that meets your skills this is a great horseback ride on the rustic side of Maui.
