Experienced hikers looking for a challenge should stop by Hanakapi'ai falls, located on the Na Pali coast of Kauai. Although the trail is moderately difficult, you will be rewarded with beautiful views of the Na Pali coastline throughout your journey. The trail leading up to the falls is 4 miles long, making for an 8-mile round trip. Many hikers visit the beach as well, which is 2 miles into the trail.
The Hanakapi'ai waterfall itself is approximately 300 feet tall. The water flows down a mossy cliff face into a large pool. While it the waterfall is certainly one of the most majestic on the island, keep yourself safe: Watch out for falling rocks and don't swim out too far. Additionally, use extreme caution when crossing the Hanakapiai stream especially when it is rainy.
